Strava × Claude · UC 2 — creative use of data

An OCC profile,
rebuilt outside your door.

Martin didn't want to fly to the Alps to train for the shape of the OCC. So Claude read his real 2025 OCC race off Strava, extracted its elevation signature, and mapped it onto the hills of the Rheingau-Taunus. Same envelope, a fifth of the drive. Both profiles below are normalised to % of route so you can see the shape match.

The routes, from above

Same signature, different countries. Plan view of each GPS track — start marked in white, the high point (roof) in the route's colour. Not to the same scale; each is normalised to its own footprint.

Both profiles are measured, not modeled. OCC: real Strava stream data (activity 15623667600, distance + altitude). Taunus: elevation from the GPX exported out of Strava after upload (Königstein → Altkönig → Kronberg valley → Großer Feldberg 882 m → Königstein), 761 points resampled to 80. Honest gap: OCC's two late climbs are merged into one Feldberg climb, and its roof sits slightly earlier (~65% vs ~76%). The envelope — soft in, deep valley, big late climb, long descent — matches.
